Provisional itinerary - 7 days Kilimanjaro climb via Lemosho RouteB - Breakfast; BL - Lunchbox; L - Lunch; D - Dinner

Arrival in TanzaniaFlight to Tanzania to Kilimanjaro Airport. We will be happy to organize your flights to Tanzania for you!

Day 1 Arrival at Kili Airport - Moshi B/A Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport. After you have received your visa and collected your luggage, you will be met by a driver from the agency. You will drive for about an hour to Moshi, to a beautifully situated lodge with a view of Africa's highest mountain. You will move into your rooms and the rest of the day is at your leisure. In the late afternoon there will be a briefing on the upcoming Kilimanjaro climb with your mountain guide. Overnight stay in a lodge.

Day 2 Start of the Kilimanjaro climb - Londorossi - Mti Mkubwa Camp (2800 m) B/BL/A You drive for about 2.5 hours to the west side of Kilimanjaro to register at the Londorossi National Park Gate (2100 m). Here you will meet your support team for the coming days, your luggage will be stowed away and you will start the Kilitour. The climb begins with an easy route and a moderate incline through lush mountain rainforest. It is important to walk at a steady pace and always "pole pole - slow"! A large number of wild animals still live in this area and with a little luck you will even get to see them (buffalo, monkeys). Overnight in a tent. Walking time: approx. 3-4 hours

Day 3 Mti Mkubwa Camp (2800 m) – Shira Camp 2 (3850 m) B/BL/AAfter the first night under the "open sky", the day begins with a nice breakfast. The trekking or today's path begins again in the mountain forest and continues to climb slowly. Soon the forest becomes lighter and you reach a moorland landscape with enormous heather, heather plants, senecios and lobelias. The path continues to climb steadily and views of wide plains open up as soon as you reach the edge of the Shira Plateau (the oldest volcanic cone in the Kibo massif). Here you walk for about 2 hours before reaching Shira Camp 2. Here you have fantastic views of Mt. Meru, Kilimanjaro and Shira. Overnight in a tent. Walking time: approx. 6 -8 hours

Day 4 Shira Camp 2 - Barranco Hut (3970 m) B/BL/AToday you hike through a stone desert to the Lava Tower Camp at about 4590 m. If the weather is good, there is the option for those who feel well to climb it (climbing at 2 degrees - altitude 4560 m). Here you have a dream view of the famous Western Breach Wall. After a lunch break behind a rock edge, you descend for about 2 hours to the Barranco Hut, which is located next to a beautiful senecio forest. From here you have a magnificent view of the mighty glaciated Kibo rim and the huge Barranco Wall, directly in front of you. Overnight in a tent. Walking time: about 7 hours

Day 5 Barranco Hut - Karanga Hut (4050 m) B/BL/AAfter a delicious breakfast, we head uphill over the steep Barranco wall (300 m high - no climbing!). Once at the top, you can enjoy the wonderful panorama and the breathtaking view of the southern flank of Kilimanjaro. After a descent and ascent, we head down into the deeply cut Karanga valley. Then a short but tough climb to Karanga Camp (4050 m). Overnight in a tent. Walking time approx. 3 - 4 hours.

Day 6 Karanga Hut - Barafu Hut (4650 m) B/BL/AToday you climb steadily and slowly uphill to the Barafu Hut camp at 4700 m. Here you have lunch, you rest and in the late afternoon there is a briefing for your summit climb for the next day. You have a light dinner relatively early and try to get a few hours' sleep. Overnight in a tent. Walking time approx. 3 - 4 hours.

Day 7 Barafu Hut – Uhuru Peak 5895 m – Mweka Hut (3100 m) M/A. At around 11 p.m. your short night is over and you get ready to climb the summit. There are a few biscuits, tea and hot water for the thermos flasks. The climb to the summit begins at around midnight. The path zigzags and over rubble through the night to Stella Point at around 5700 m. Shortly before Stella Point you experience a fantastic sunrise high above the clouds with Mawenzi in the foreground. Here at Stella Point you have to gather all your strength once again and then continue for around 45 minutes past the fantastic glacier fields to Uhuru Peak at 5895 m. You've done it! The highest point in Africa, a moving moment. Summit photo with a fascinating view of Mt. Meru, Mawenzi, the crater with Ash Pit and the last large glaciers in Africa. Then the descent back to the Barafu Hut begins. Here you can rest and have a small lunch. Then a further descent, about 3 - 4 hours to the Mweka Hut at about 3100 m. On the way the landscape changes again and it becomes noticeably warmer. The camp is in the middle of a beautiful heather forest. Overnight in a tent. Walking time: about 10 - 14 hours.

Day 8 Mweka Hut - Moshi B/L/A You start relatively early today for the Mweka Gate at around 1700 m. The descent takes around 3 hours and leads through the magical mountain rainforest again. Shortly before the Mweka Gate, if you time it well, you can see colobus monkeys or blue monkeys. At the gate, you check out of the national park and then, together with the accompanying team, you drive to Moshi to our agency's office. At a small party, you receive your well-earned summit certificates, the tip is given to the mountain team and you toast your summit success with a drink or two. Then transfer back to the lodge. Overnight stay in a lodge/hotel in Moshi.
