Tanzania Safari
Safari in the Serengeti, Tarangire NP, Lake Manyara NP, Ngorongoro Crater, Arusha NP! Wildlife watching in the northern national parks of Tanzania!
Tanzania is considered a top destination for safaris and, above all, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater in the north are among the most famous game reserves in the world and offer the best wildlife viewing opportunities in all of Africa!
Safari offers!
A safari in Tanzania is a very special and exciting experience. Together with your private driver-guide or in a small group of max. 2 to 6 people, you will discover and experience typical African landscapes and unusually high animal populations in the northern national parks of Tanzania. Whether giraffes, elephants, wildebeest, buffalo, lions, zebras, leopards or the many other large and small wild animals! You will see them all and be amazed. You will stay in comfortable tented camps or safari lodges and experience the most beautiful national parks up close.
A very spectacular safari experience awaits you in the Serengeti, the oldest and most famous national park in Tanzania. The treeless savannah, which is also inhabited by the Maasai, is one of the attractions for lovers of untouched nature. The extensive area is home to numerous predators, antelope and elephant herds. A highlight is the annual migration, also known as the migration period of the animal herds. Between the end of December and August, millions of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles migrate clockwise from the southern Serengeti in Tanzania to the north towards Kenya in search of fresh pastures. There, this part of the landscape is called the Maasai Mara. The highlight of the migration is the spectacular crossing of the millions of animals on the Grumeti River in July/August. It's amazing!
On the edge of the Serengeti, the side walls of the Ngorongoro Crater rise up to 600 m high. It is covered in paradisiacal nature and is home to around 25,000 animals. The Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Exciting safari experiences also await you in the other national parks in the north. The soda-rich Lake Manyara in the national park of the same name is home to thousands of pink flamingos, as well as pelicans, storks and cormorants. In Tarangire National Park, on the other hand, a wide variety of animals flock to the remaining water holes, especially in the dry season from June to September. Huge herds of elephants can be seen here. A paradise for photographers.
Less well-known but just as attractive are the national parks in the south of the country. The Ruaha National Park and the jungle of the Udzungwa National Park with its trees up to 30 m high, mosses and ferns are home to countless mammals and bird species. A paradise for hikers and ornithologists. The Selous Game Reserve in the southeast is the largest game reserve in Africa and is always an insider tip for safari fans. In addition to the rare wild dogs, half of the Tanzanian elephant population can be found here!
Travel time for safari in Tanzania!
In principle, you can travel to Tanzania all year round. However, you should be careful during the rainy season from November to mid-December and from March to May! After the rainy season, the savannahs turn into a sea of flowers. The best time to travel for animal watching is the dry season from June to October, as the animals tend to gather around the remaining watering holes. While it can get up to 30 °C during the day, the nights are pleasantly cool.
