Day 3 To the Horombo Huts (3720 m) B/BL/D

Today you leave the tropical jungle behind you and continue hiking through the moorland. If the weather is clear, you will have wonderful views of the Mawenzi. Walking time: 5-6 hours Day 4 Horombo Huts/Acclimatization B/BL/D

Today is a day for acclimatization. It is important to have at least one rest day to help your body adjust to the high altitude. Use the day to climb to higher altitudes with the mountain guide. A day hike to the Zebra Rocks or the Mawenzi Saddle is possible.

Day 5 To Kibo Hut (4700 m) B/BL/D

You hike through high, heather-like shrubland. Boulders of volcanic origin line the path. The climb becomes steeper. At the first saddle (4150 m) you reach a desert-like plateau, the so-called Kibo Desert. Hike to the Kibo saddle and to the highest hut on the tour. Walking time: 5-6 hours

Tag 6     Uhuru Peak (5895 m)     M/A

We set off shortly after midnight to experience the magnificent sunrise from Gilman's Point (5681 m). The path leads steeply uphill and reaching Gilman's Point on the crater rim is already considered as climbing Kilimanjaro. Now we have to complete the last few meters of altitude to Uhuru Peak. Then we have reached the highest point in Africa - a moving moment! The descent takes us the same way back to the Horombo huts. Walking time: 12-14 hours

Tag 7 Horombo Hütten – Marangu Gate – Moshi F/BL/A

The last stage leads back to the Marangu Gate. You will take a break at the Mandara huts. After saying goodbye to your mountain team, you will be transferred to the hotel in Moshi. Overnight in the hotel. Walking time 5-6 hours
